Every day, we watch our students grow from beginner musicians to confident and inspiring rock stars in their community. Browse photos, videos, posts and more to find out why School of Rock Rockville is more than just your local music school.
School of Rock is perfect for beginning musicians and intermediate and advanced musicians, too. School of Rock works to develop each student's skills to be stage-ready for performance.
School of Rock teaches guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboard + piano, and singing. What sets School of Rock apart from traditional music lessons is our Method™ which combines one-on-one instruction with group rehearsals and live performances, teaching students how to play together as a band.
School of Rock uses a patented performance-based music education method that builds musical proficiency through our proprietary Method Engine, Method App, Method Book collection, and SongFirst approach.
Yes, as part of the School of Rock Method, our SongFirst™ approach uses classic songs to teach technique and music theory. This method helps students remain excited about their music education and eager to practice.

At School of Rock Rockville, our Little Wing music program is offered for children as young as 4 years old.
Yes we do! We have a very successful adult band program but also provide lessons-only options for adults from beginners to advanced players for guitar, bass, drums, keys, and voice.
We have a 30 day cancellation policy, so there is no long-term commitment. HOWEVER, we encourage our students who come for our performance programs to complete a full season for continuity in casting and rehearsing for the final performance. A season is 4 months long.
We are a year-round program, so we don't take summers off! But we will be lining up a plethora of summer camps which we will have more information on in March.
First and foremost, we want to get to know you as a person and a musician. We will talk about your interests in music, find some way to get you playing even a little bit on your instrument even as a beginner, and set you up for success to practice at home using our Method App tool. You should be leaving the school with a smile on your face and a song in your brain!
We have two different performance programs where students get to play spectacular rock concerts at real live music venues! One performance program is for students 8 - 18 (if still in high school) and another for adults that starts at 18 (out of high school) .
We teach guitar, bass, drums, vocals and keyboards. We have individual one on one lessons along with group lessons and rehersals.
