Sacramento, CA – School of Rock Sacramento is proud to announce its upcoming End-of-Season show. Over the course of two days at the end of September, 11 bands will take the stage at an Elk Grove winery to show off all the hard work they’ve put in over the summer.
The show will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 27 and 28 at South Slope Wines on Sheldon Road in Elk Grove. Shows will get underway at 11:00 a.m. each day and wrap up by 5:00 p.m.
This is the 13th season of School of Rock Sacramento performances. These End-of-Season shows feature two types of performance groups: Rock 101 features younger students, usually ages 7-11. They will be performing songs by the power-pop group Imagine Dragons.
Older students – ranging in age from 11-18 – will be performing music from a variety of artists, including Weezer, The Pixies, Metallica, and Slayer.
“This season's show themes were chosen based on a survey that all of our Rock 101 and Performance students completed,” said Jared Casstevens, General Manager at School of Rock Sacramento. “We had an awesome summer season with a lot of student engagement!”
School of Rock students take individual lessons on traditional rock instruments like guitar and drums, but they also come together each week to learn how to play in a band with their peers. It’s what makes it such a special place. They spend months preparing rock songs, and shows like this one at South Slope Wines are where they get to step on stage and show off everything they’ve learned.
Performances are open to the public.
