WHAT TO EXPECT
Want to learn what it takes to record your own music? During this 5-day camp, students will learn the fundamentals of recording and production that can be applied to any type of home studio setup. Utilizing powerful and accessible recording technology and gear, students will record, mix, and master songs that the Songwriting Camp will be working on in tandem, as a final product to take home. This is a music camp for instrumentalists and vocalists 12-18 years of age who have some proficiency with their instrument and are looking to expand into the world of music production and recording.
Students can expect an exciting and educational week of recording and production fundamentals taught by our talented camp instructors. Each student will have access to a digital version of the completed and mixed songs. Each day, students will be asked to bring lunch, snacks, water and hearing protection.
At School of Rock, we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all campers. We kindly ask parents to avoid packing any nut products in lunches or snacks and to ensure no toy or real weapons are brought to camp. This helps us maintain a safe, inclusive space where everyone can focus on making music and having fun!
What to Bring?
Campers must bring their own lunch each day
Guitarists should bring their own guitar (or bass) if they own one
Guitarists should bring straps, picks, extra strings, etc
Vocalists can bring their own microphone if they own one
Drummers must bring their own drumsticks
Campers must bring their own hearing protection (available for purchase).
Roadie Olympics
Get ready to test your rock-and-roll skills in the ultimate behind-the-scenes challenge! During our Rock 101 Winter Break Camp, students will compete in the Roadie Olympics—a series of fast-paced games that highlight the real jobs of a touring crew. From lightning-fast cable wrapping and gear-lugging relays to quick stage-setup races and trivia about live sound, campers will work in teams to earn points and bragging rights. It’s a fun, hands-on way to learn what it takes to keep a show running while adding a little friendly competition to the week.
