Camp Description
Starting in the early 90s, Pop Punk became a popular music genre that dominated the radio. It has produced bands like Green Day, Paramore, Blink 182, No Doubt, Fall Out Boy, and many more that will be featured in this music camp. Students will spend Monday through Friday learning and practicing songs, all culminating in a live performance at the end of the week. Great for students 8-18 years of age with previous instruction.
Camp Hours
Camp runs Monday thru Friday 12:30-3:30pm. On Friday at 3pm, students will perform the songs they've been working on throughout the week. We ask parents to arrive between 2:45-2:55pm so we can start the performance at 3pm sharp.
What to Expect
HEARING PROTECTION IS MANDATORY. Each day, students will be asked to bring good quality ear protection (that can be purchased online or at Long & McQuade for about $30), a water bottle with their name on it, and a snack. We suggest that students eat lunch before camp and they will receive a snack break mid-afternoon. Please keep in mind our school is PEANUT FREE. GUITAR/BASS PLAYERS: Bring your guitar/bass if you have one, strap, extra strings, and several picks. DRUMMERS: Bring 2 pairs of drumsticks and please wear flat, closed comfortable shoes, such as tennis or running shoes. VOCALISTS: are welcome to bring their own microphone, otherwise, a microphone will be provided. *(amps, cables, keyboards are provided).
Getting Here
We're located at 49 Queen Street South, Mississauga, north of Eglinton Ave, and south of Britannia Rd. There is free parking in front of the school, along Ellen St (just north of the school), and in the parking lot behind the building (accessible from Ellen St).
Waiver and Cancellation Policy
We ask that parents read and sign our camp waiver and provide an emergency contact phone number. Please ensure we receive these before or on the morning of the camp. A 50% refund will be offered on cancelled camps up to 15 days prior to the camp start date. Cancellations within 14 days before camp are not eligible for a refund.
Wonderful staff. Unlike city camps, these aren't temp summer staff who couldn't care less. These are the school's actual staff. Paula, the owner is on site and fully involved. My daughter is in love with music and this camp is the best we have experienced over the years. It's more costly than other camps, but worth every penny. The end of the week performance was amazing, the teachers are fun, personable and super into it. I can't say enough. Thank you SoR - Parent, School of Rock Streetsville
It was a great experience for my son, who has never played with other people in a band before. I was so impressed with the final show and we could tell that the experience of being guided by knowledgeable instructors helped him to make a huge step in his progression as a musician - Parent, School of Rock Streetsville
