Brandon Malik
Guitar Teacher, Bass Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
After a 25-year career teaching and coaching middle school students, Brandon decided to channel his passion for education into a new direction through music. Long before entering the classroom, he had already developed a deep love for music, immersing himself in learning about instruments, artists, and musical influences, a passion that continues to this day.
His enthusiasm for music led him to become an active collaborator in the local music scene, contributing to numerous projects and performances. While live performance took time to become a comfort zone, he was always creating and recording original ideas, eventually releasing an extensive collection of music across various online platforms and physical formats, often under quirky pseudonyms or band names. He continues to enjoy performing with groups such as All Over The Shop, Paul Einhaus Arrest, and Tuberous Bush Crickets.
Away from the stage, he is supported by his wife, Amy, as they keep up with the adventures of their four busy children. At School of Rock Troy, he is grateful for the opportunity to share his knowledge, experience, and passion for music with the next generation of musicians. In addition to teaching, he also coaches for the Nationals Soccer Club, making for a full and rewarding post-retirement schedule. He looks forward to meeting and inspiring new students and fellow rockers every day.
