Our Experienced Music Teachers
All of School of Rock West Houston’s music teachers are experienced musicians devoted to helping students attain musical proficiency. Our instructors guide students one-on-one to personalize learning, inspire confidence and build social skills.
Trevor Luthy
Owner, General Manager
Trevor is a lifelong musician who has been singing and playing instruments since an early age. His bands have toured nationally and recorded multiple albums. His taste in music ranges from rock, funk, and folk to classical and metal. He enjoys being around the School of Rock West Houston community and being active outdoors but mostly loves to spend time with his wife Laura and two children Mason and Lillie.
Brian Rowe
Music Director, Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Brian hails from Detroit, Michigan, and made his way to Texas after serving in the United States Air Force as a fighter crew chief. He enjoys music, sports, gaming and spending time with his wife and dogs. Brian has been with School of Rock for the last eight years, and even met his wife Gaby through the Adult Program, where he still plays along side of her to this day!
Composing and writing are big passions for Brian, and he works frequently in a few of Houston’s top studios as a sessions musician, recording with many well known and up and coming artists.
Performing live is truly Brian’s passion, and he stays busy playing for a handful of different groups in Houston as well as leading worship every Sunday at church. Brian is very thankful for the opportunity to teach the next generation of creatives, and being a part of their musical journey at School of Rock West Houston.
Syonn Pandya
Assistant Music Director, Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher, Vocal Teacher
Born in Houston, Syonn Pandya is a multi-instrumentalist teacher. Coming from a background of punk and metal, he loves aggressive riffs and blasting drums. Starting with guitar lessons at five years old, he began playing in bands in high school.
He is the front man of local punk band Adult Superstition, and the drummer of the local psychedelic act Zephyr Island. He has written and recorded and released three original records during his time in the scene, and specializes in preparing students at School of Rock West Houston for the local scene with our curriculum.
Aside from music, Syonn is studying for his bachelors in Computer Science.
Arianna Pamphile
Vocal Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Ari, a Haitian American singer-songwriter, was born and raised in the countryside northeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At the age of eight, she began performing in a Motown band in her local town, where she discovered her passion for Funk and Soul music.
Ari’s father, her biggest musical influence, taught her to play the guitar, sing, and write songs in various genres, including Caribbean, Classic Rock, Jazz, African, and R&B. In her free time, she enjoys gaming, drawing, songwriting, and learning new instruments.
With Houston now her home, she performs in a funk group to preserve the love of soul music throughout the city. From the moment she joined School of Rock West Houston, Ari knew that nothing could bring her greater joy in her career than teaching what she loves the most and inspiring the creative minds of her students.
Gabrielle Duplenne
Drum Teacher, Vocal Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Gabrielle is a professional drummer & occasional singer from Indonesia, with over two decades of experience performing and recording across Asia and Europe. A graduate of Music High School, she has been involved in a wide range of music projects, touring and collaborating with artists across genres & cultures; bringing international influences to her playing. Known for her solid groove, versatility and infectious energy, she’s just as comfortable in a church as on a festival stage. While music, including teaching at School of Rock West Houston, is her main gig, she enjoys exploring new places and making friends with animals.
Charles Potter
Vocal Teacher, Drums Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Charles is a musician, performer, vocalist, actor and man of many traits. Charles studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston MA. He has a background in gospel jazz soul blues rock classical and country and Well rounded musician with a major influence in soul gospel and pop.
Beyond teaching at School of Rock West Houston, Charles has performed with many acts including Walle, Stacy Barthe, the Boston Jazz Orchestra, and currently lead performer for Intensity Bands (Houston), rated the number one wedding band in the country.
