Richard Sharp
General Manager
Richard has been hooked on writing songs ever since he picked up a guitar in the sixth grade. He has played in several bands throughout the years, picking up bass and drums along the way.
Richard loves the creativity of recording music and the comradery of practicing with friends, especially in his current project, Businessman. Before working at School of Rock, he taught AP English. Richard loves to show his students at School of Rock West University Place how fun it is to work together and grow through practice. Some of his musical influences include Steely Dan, Elder, Phoebe Bridgers, and Archspire.
Logan Gill
Music Director
Born and raised in Houston, Logan has been involved with the arts since before he could walk! An avid musician for most of his life, his guitar work spans many genres, from jazz to classical to rock and roll. When he’s not teaching at School of Rock West University Place, Logan is most likely writing, singing, and performing with his band, The Deadly Blooms.
David “Gio” Soto
Keyboard + Piano Teacher, Vocal Teacher, Guitar Teacher
David Giovanni Soto (Gio) grew up in Pasadena, Texas where he played cello and guitar in the fifth grade. In high school, he learned piano and discovered his voice. He joined the men’s choir and never looked back. Vocals became Gio's main instrument and he studied vocals in college at Sam Houston State. He now gigs around town playing his solo music. His biggest influences are Tragically Hip, Kate Bush, and TVZ.
Noel Rodriguez
Drum Teacher, Guitar Teacher
Noel is a School of Rock veteran, having taught at three schools in two countries. A native Texan, Noel grew up in Monterrey, Mexico. He remembers the excitement he felt the first time he sat behind a drum kit and realized that’s what he wanted to do. Noel loves rock and pretty much every other kind of music. He loves to play live and has played and recorded all over the world. His goal as an instructor is to share his love for music and to get you playing.
Camille McCloskey
Vocals Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Camille is a passionate and experienced musician with over 20 years of performance under her belt. A classically trained vocalist, Camille brings a deep understanding of technique while keeping lessons fun, modern, and inspiring. She teaches voice, piano, and guitar here at School of Rock, drawing on a wide range of musical influences including Taylor Swift, The Beach Boys, and Slow Pulp.
With a strong love for indie rock and pop, Camille not only teaches music, she lives it. She fronts her own indie-pop band, writes original songs, and is an active performer in the local music scene. When she’s not on stage or in the studio, you can find her enjoying a good video game or discovering new artists.
Camille is thrilled to be part of the School of Rock West University Place team and can’t wait to help students grow their skills and confidence on their musical journey.
Zach Jones
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Zach has been involved in music for nearly 20 years. He picked up a guitar at a young age, as well as the bass guitar. Zach has been with several Houston bands throughout his life as both a lead and rhythm guitarist. His dedication and passion for the art form of songwriting inspire him to make music on his own and challenge his creative limits in terms of what is possible when playing and making music. Zach's love for the guitar, music, and teaching, in general, knows no bounds.
Andre “Dre” Cunningham
Drum Teacher
Andre was born into a musical family, with his great uncles being the late jazz legends Elvin, Thad, and Hank Jones. He studied music production and percussion in high school and at Michigan State University. Andre has toured the world as a musician working with artists such as Dorinda Clark-Cole, Vicki Winans, Zacardi Cortez, Marcus Belgrave, Catherine Alcorn, and Dom Famularo to name a few. Originally from Michigan, Andre now calls Texas home.
Matt Mireles
Drum Teacher
Matt Mireles was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He plays drums for Zegovia, an alternative rock band with energetic and versatile live shows. Coming from a musical family, drums were an instant passion for Matt. He loves to take his passion for drumming and make his lessons a fun environment.
Reef Stallworth
Bass Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher
Reef is a musician that has one name, like Prince or Flea. He has a ton of musical experience and has been trained in jazz as a bassist and composer. Reef started playing rock and hip-hop at Prairie View A&M University. He loves being able to teach both bass and drums to our students as a way of sharing what he knows.
Rodney Chinelliott
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher
Rodney is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, lyricist, and music producer. He studied music theory in college, has a plethora of professional accomplishments, and his stories are legendary. In his spare time, Rodney is a voting member of the Grammys and currently plays with the local Houston band, Oddknee.
Bennett Sharp
Studio Coordinator, Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Vocal Teacher
Bennett is a Texan who has been a guitarist, bassist, and vocalist for over 15 years. He would frequently steal his older brother's guitar when he was young, and after acquiring his own, the rest is history.
Bennett started by learning classic rock and metal songs before moving towards a singer-songwriter approach. Before recently moving back to Texas, he worked as a dog trainer in Southern California for five years, but music remained his primary focus during that period. In his free time, Bennett enjoys jamming with his bandmates (two of whom also work at School of Rock) in their band, Businessman, writing and producing his own music, and looking after his two dogs, Nala and Barry.
Quincy Cotton
Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Quincy is a multi-instrumentalist from Houston, Texas who studied guitar at Berkeley College of Music. He is also an experienced session musician, producer, engineer, and songwriter who creates all genres of music. Some of his influences include Prince, Iron Maiden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Jimi Hendrix.
Alec Peterson
Guitar Teacher
Alec Peterson is a seasoned guitar teacher with over ten years of private teaching experience. Originally from San Diego, CA, he recently relocated to Houston, TX to continue sharing his passion for music.
Alec has performed in numerous cover and tribute bands, playing everything from '70s pop to 2000s rock and metal. He currently plays guitar and writes for two active bands: Door 13, a female-fronted hard rock band, and Cascade Effect, a heavy-hitting deathcore project. His diverse background in both performance and instruction makes him a dynamic presence in the music community, and at School of Rock West University Place.
Andrew Yeargain
Bass Guitar Teacher
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Andrew is a self-taught bassist. He has been playing in the local music scene since 2016 and is currently the bassist for Zephyr Island. Andrew is mostly inspired by jazz artists like Avishai Cohen, Herbie Hancock and Snarky Puppy, but he also loves psychedelic rock similar to Pink Floyd, Tool and Thank You Scientist.
While Andrew does love all those bands, his greatest passion is helping students at School of Rock West University Place manifest their musical dreams.
