School of Rock Winnipeg Students Get Together (Although Apart) To Spread Rocking Holiday Cheer!

School of Rock, the leader in performance-based music education, has remained successfully online with virtual, one-on-one music lessons for its students through its School of Rock Remote program.

As the holidays begin, some of the students got together virtually to record two Christmas songs hoping they could spread some much needed cheer at such an unusual time. The premise was simple: Use your cell phone to record your audio and then shoot a video of yourself performing the song. The result was overwhelming and these songs are guaranteed to put anyone in the holiday spirit!

“A big part of our programs at the school is the group rehearsals and performances the students get to take part in throughout the year” says Mike Reis, General Manager. “This pandemic has been so hard on them all. The ability to connect physically in our school and feel part of a community is what makes our school so special! It’s just not there for them right now.” Reis adds “We’ve remained extremely diligent with keeping everyone connected online and have been finding ways to keep the students working together on projects such as these Christmas songs. We are able to still feel connected while being apart and are still able to reach out to our community outside of the school!”

Both songs, Oh Holy Night and Deck the Halls can be found on the school’s Facebook page, YouTube channel and Instagram feed all linked right here:

The staff, students and families in the School of Rock community would love to wish everyone a safe and rocking holidays! We hope everyone gets a chance to celebrate, relax, reflect, reset and look forward to a rocking new year!
