School of Rock students perform "Black Hole Sun" by Soundgarden live in studio.

School of Rock continues to teach rock music's most iconic songs to its 30,000+ students worldwide. A group of some of the most skilled in the School of Rock system descended on Rax Trax Studio in Chicago, IL to record Soundgarden's classic "Black Hole Sun." The results managed to surpass all expectations.

"Josh Rubin on lead guitar emulated the distinct guitar tones perfectly using an eBow for the sustained line in the intro," says Steve Rossi of School of Rock Franklin in Tennessee. "This group totally captured the erie and evocative, Beatlesque vibe. It was a magical moment in the studio and comes across in the video. There were chills and tingles during the entire take. It sort of felt like Chris Cornell was in the room with us."

With over 200 locations worldwide, School of Rock is the largest music education company in the world. Each year tens of thousands of kids take their very first music lesson and within months perform in a real rock concert, at a real venue.

Our unique performance-based curriculum pushes students to develop in-depth musical skills through individual instruction, rehearsals, and performances with fellow students.

With programs suited for any age or skill level, we can help your child become a great musician.
