Andrew Karlin
Owner, General Manager
Andrew Karlin is the Owner and General Manager of School of Rock Brick. A devoted musician since the age of five, Andrew left a long and successful career as a pioneer in video and Internet technology to pursue his passion project - working with kids, music and the community to enrich lives and have fun. Andrew is a proven entrepreneur who applies the experience of three previous business start-ups to establishing School of Rock Brick in underserved Ocean County.
Allie Laine
Assistant General Manager, Studio Coordinator
Allie was drawn to the piano at the age of 4 where her love of music began. A multi-instrumentalist and singer, she appeared in numerous theater productions and concerts. Allie toured the tri-state area singing in the original rock opera, “Day After Day,” which was written to raise autism awareness. She also had the honor of auditioning and being accepted into the Broadway Artists Alliance where she trained with New York’s top vocal coaches and worked alongside Broadway performers.
Allie has performed on prestigious stages such as Red Bank’s Two River Theater and New York City’s New World Stages. In addition to performing, Allie has over a decade of experience working in and managing music schools, leading up to her role as Assistant General Manager at School of Rock in Brick.
Jay Oliver
Music Director, Vocal Teacher, Guitar Teacher
Jay's passion for music started at a very young age. He has over twenty years of experience performing as a guitarist, bassist, and vocalist. Jay has been a member of several original projects through the years, starting on guitar and then transitioning to bass before transitioning into vocals. You can catch him playing the local cover band circuit with various bands and with his acoustic duo.
Jay has a master's degree in communication and believes that music is the one shared language we truly have in this world. This belief, and the transformative effect music has had on his own life, drives Jay to share this gift with our students as a guitar teacher and vocal instructor.
John DiGiulio
Drum Teacher
John DiGiulio is a drum teacher at School of Rock Brick. He has been a School of Rock drum teacher for over 10 years and has taught in several area schools. John's experience takes him back to being a young, enthusiastic learner and player in school bands and in local bands with friends. His high school teacher encouraged him to try out for the McDonald’s All-Star American Band, where he was accepted as one of two musicians representing the state of Rhode Island. That experience earned John a full scholarship to an arts and academic school of his choice. John chose Berklee College of Music in Boston. John has been an active touring and recording drummer, working with Paul Simon, Joan Osborne, Elvis Costello and many more. John is currently the drummer for Gloria Gaynor, traveling the globe playing sold-out shows. John likes to use his knowledge of music and the music business to show his students how to perform at their best, teaching them the fundamentals of drumming and how to work well in a band situation with positive results. From beginner to advanced skill levels, John's dedication to his students will always provide them with an awesome learning environment and the tools they need to move forward in their music endeavors.
Andy Meyer
Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Andy Meyer is a lifelong musician who began on guitar and drums at a young age and continued playing in concert, jazz, and rock bands from elementary school throughout college. His years playing in music festivals with the band Turtle Soup led to direct involvement with event production, including many successful and well-received festival and club events and opportunities for Andy to play alongside musicians such as Bernard Purdie, Liberty Devito, Tim Palmieri, and more. Andy is thrilled to be a guitar teacher and drum teacher at School of Rock and help students enhance their musical skills and stage confidence.
Patrizsha Lucas-Sherlock
Vocal Teacher
Patrizsha Lucas-Sherlock, vocal instructor, has been singing since she made her first appearance on this planet. She studied musical performance at the Susan Slavin Academy at Carnegie Hall. She also worked with Bill Riley, vocal coach for Celine Dion, Bette Midler, Patti Lupone and other artists.
Patrizsha is experienced in a variety of genres from Cabaret and Broadway to Country and Blues. Her home, though, is in Rock music where she has recorded 2 original CD's and two EP's. As a touring professional, Patrizsha has performed around the world including Kenya, South Korea and the United Nations in NYC for the first Lady of Mali and the Ambassador's Wives event. The music video for her latest song Shelter, recorded in Nashville, is entered in the Garden State Film Festival, while her band, Patrizsha and the Soulterior Motives is nominated for Best Contemporary Group at the Kindred Awards.
Patrizsha's love of singing and people led her to School of Rock Brick where she is thrilled to pay it forward as a singing teacher.
Nick Marrotta
Guitar Teacher
Nick Marrotta has been obsessed with the art of guitar for as long as he can remember and dreamed that one day he would be able to play the instrument that caught his eye. That dream became a reality in February 2014. Since then, he has played in multiple bands, played hundreds of shows, and recorded many hours worth of music. Across several years of teaching experience, Nick has become accustomed to helping young aspiring guitarists achieve their musical goals. He is excited to inspire students as a guitar teacher at the School of Rock in Brick.
Joey Prince
Drum Teacher
Joey Prince has been drumming since the age of 5. His love for drums started as a kid while listening to KISS records his dad would play around the house. In the years since, he has played with numerous bands, recorded tracks with various artists, and has toured live across the USA.
With rock and metal as his main genres, Joey has also studied Latin, funk, fusion, indie, progressive rock, and more with outstanding teachers—especially Glen Sobel from the Alice Cooper band. Joey toured as a drum tech on bills featuring Slash, Alice In Chains, Evanescence, and Godsmack.
Joey is excited to inspire a new generation of young musicians as a drum teacher at School of Rock Brick and to help them achieve their musical goals.
John Kraemer
Drum Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Drumming is in John Kraemer's blood. He grew up in Toms River and would make elaborate drum sets out of paper and later out of frisbees. When his grandma tore them up, he would make a new one!
John served in the Army National Guard for 23 years and deployed twice. He played with several local bands, including the Riffsurfers, Shore Thing, Tasting Grace, and Anthems For Autumn. John enjoys boating on his small Boston Whaler and training the next generation of musicians as a drum teacher at School of Rock Brick.
Ryan Weil
Guitar Teacher, Bass Teacher, Drum Teacher
Ryan is a seasoned multi-instrumentalist and dedicated music educator with nearly 20 years of experience on guitar, bass, and drums. Drawing from a wide range of genres—including rock, ska, reggae, metal, and hip-hop—he brings real-world performance and studio expertise into every lesson. Ryan has toured nationally, shared stages with acts like The Offspring and The Wailers, and is an artist for SJC Custom Drums. Offstage, he’s an award-winning producer and engineer, recognized by NJ.com, with credits on high-streaming releases and playlist placements. Ryan is passionate about helping our School of Rock students grow as musicians by sharing the skills and experience he’s gained throughout his dynamic career.
Angie Amato
Vocals Teacher
Angie found her love for music early on and has been developing her craft ever since. She started taking singing seriously in middle school and as she developed her voice, she also started developing her songwriting. A current student at Berklee College of Music, Angie is majoring in Music Business with double minors in Teaching Contemporary Voice and Musical Theatre. Angie has been involved in numerous theatrical productions with Exit 82 Theatre Company, Algonquin Arts Theatre, and the North Nautical Stars. In addition to that, Angie started music directing Exit 82 Theatre Company's CAPAA program at 16 years old.
At school, Angie works as a Student Programs Director for Berklee's Student Government where she plans and executes events for the entire student body. She also works as an Event Coordinator for Berklee's The Movement, where she uses music as a catalyst for change through volunteer work, bringing music to places like the Franklin Park Zoo and Franciscan Children's Hospital.
Angie loves being able to share her knowledge of music. Using her experience in vocal pedagogy, she hopes to help others find their voice and feel confident in their performing abilities at School of Rock Brick!
Tamra Lawlor
Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Born and raised with a passion for sound, Tamra has been playing, writing, and releasing music for as long as she can remember. A multi-instrumentalist specializing in keyboard + piano, guitar, bass guitar, and drums, she brings a versatile and creative approach to her music and lessons.
After earning a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont in Psychology with a minor in Music Technology and Business, Tamra is continuing to build her musical journey in her technique songwriting and production. Whether she is tracking in the studio or teaching the next generation of musicians, she’s driven by the belief that music is a powerful, lifelong connector.
Now based in Brick, NJ, Tamra is excited to join the School of Rock and share their experience, energy, and love for music with the local community.
David Cacciatore
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
David Cacciatore started playing guitar at 12 years old, inspired by blues, classic rock, power pop, and alternative artists. Since then, he has played in multiple original bands and performed at legendary venues like Irving Plaza, The Stone Pony, Asbury Lanes, and House of Independents. He has also opened for acts including Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem.
David writes and records music with his band, the dt’s, and brings a wide range of experience from guitar technique and knowledge to live performance. He enjoys sharing his passion for guitar with students and helping them build confidence through music. David is excited to be part of the team at School of Rock Brick!
