FAQ

IS SCHOOL OF ROCK FOR BEGINNERS?

Yes - we teach beginner musicians! School of Rock is the perfect place to start if your child is picking up an instrument for the first time. Whether they've never taken a single lesson or are a little nervous about joining a band, we're here to help them rock!

We also welcome intermediate and advanced musicians - whether they're self-taught or have been taking private music lessons for years. Our structured curriculum is designed to meet every student where they're at and take them to the next level.

The goal? Getting every musician stage-ready through real live performances that build confidence, teamwork and skills that last a lifetime.

WHAT DOES SCHOOL OF ROCK TEACH?

School of Rock Burbank offer music lessons across seven different instruments including guitar lessons, bass guitar, drum lessons, keyboard + piano lessons, singing / vocal lessons, and even ukulele.

But here's what really sets us apart from traditional music schools: our School of Rock Method™. Instead of just sitting in a room with a teacher, students get the best of both worlds - one-on-one private instruction combined with weekly group rehearsals and real live performances.

This means they're not just learning notes on a page. They're learning how to play together as a band, listen to each other, and put on a show. It's something private lessons alone just can't teach.

DOES SCHOOL OF ROCK TEACH MUSIC THEORY?

Yes - music theory is built into everything we do. As part of the School of Rock Method, our SongFirst™ approach uses songs to teach music theory and proper technique in a way that keeps students excited and eager to practice.

We also teach students how to read music, with instruction tailored to their level - from beginner musicians just starting out to advanced players refining their skills.

WHAT AGE DOES SCHOOL OF ROCK START?

Kids can start as young as 3 years old at School of Rock Burbank through our Little Wing program. Little Wing is a sweet, playful introduction to music designed specifically for preschool music education.

For school-age kids and teens, we offer programs broken down by age group and skill level so every student learns alongside peers who are at a similar place in their journey.

Can i sign up if I'm an adult?

Absolutely, rock has no age limit! We offer private music lessons for adults and a full band program designed specifically for adult students. Anyone age 18 and over can join, whether you're an intermediate musician who has been playing for a bit or an experienced player looking to get back on stage.

At School of Rock Burbank, our adult program includes flexible scheduling and a supportive community of fellow adult musicians at similar skill levels.
