Team Building at School of Rock Columbus

IS THIS REALLY TEAM BUILDING OR IS IT JUST FUN?

A band is the ultimate team. Just like in the office, every member of the band must be on top of their individual game. But, just like the office, individual super stars aren’t enough. You need every company rock star to put the team ahead of their own ego. Same in the band. When a musician doesn’t play their instrument in synch with the rest of the band, the outcome is quite disappointing…. And very obvious. That’s what makes School of Rock a great team-building activity; it spotlights the importance of teamwork in ways no other program can.

IMPROVE COMMUNICATION

Have you ever watched band and wondered how the guitarists know when to walk toward each other and when to walk to the edge of the stage? No, it isn't choreographed. It's non-verbal communication. It's being in tune (pardon the pun) with the other band mates. It's working harmoniously toward the same objective. That's what we'll demonstrate when you bring your team for a workshop with us.

BUILD COLLABORATION AND ALIGNMENT

There really is no such thing as a "one man band." [A "one man band" is actually a musician.] And, just like your team is more than a collection of individual people, a band is more than a collection of independent musicians. A band, by definition is "a group of people working together, particularly in the field of music."  As our clients learn, there is no more immediately obvious team that is not aligned than a band. In this 'aha' moment, your team members will come to recognize the importance of top-notch collaboration skills.

SOLVE PROBLEMS CREATIVELY

Generally speaking, team members want to solve problems. They just don't know how. At School of Rock we use music to illustrate what has come to be known as the industry standard process for problem solving -- the Osborne-Parnes Creative Problem Solving Process.  [Don't worry. We won't even reference the CPC model by name... unless you're an H.R. department. Then we all might want to geek out together over all the training/H.R. knowledge that went into creating our curriculum! ] We'll walk your team through the process in a very non-threatening way -- a process that they can replicate with the problems that need solving in your business.

LEADERSHIP WITHOUT AUTHORITY

You don't have to be anointed with a manager/department head title to be a leader. And just because you're given a title doesn't mean you'll be a leader. Consider the members of a band. No one has the title "band leader." So who is the leader? And how do they get things done? We'll explore that concept as we ignite the fire within your team.

LET'S TALK
