OUR PROGRAMS
LITTLE WING (AGES 4-5)
- A year-round program for preschoolers that teaches foundational music skills through group activities and games. Kids will listen to classic rock music and learn basic skills in rhythm, pitch, and dynamics.
- One weekly group class, 45 minutes in length
ROOKIES (AGES 6-7)
- A year-round program for young kids with no previous musical experience to explore all of the rock instruments. They will get hands-on opportunities to play with the guitar, bass, drums, keys, and microphone vocals, learn music fundamentals like melody, song structure, rhythm, and chords. Once a student has decided on an instrument to pursue, they will begin private lessons with one of our teachers in preparation for Rock 101
- One weekly group class, an hour in length. No at-home practice required
ROCK 101 (AGES 8-13, BEGINNER)
- A weekly band rehearsal, plus a weekly private lesson, where students learn simplified classic rock songs for beginner musicians. Students will learn the songs from their private teachers, and then learn how to play in a group environment through the band rehearsal.
- Rehearsal is 90 minutes, private lesson is 45 minutes by default
PERFORMANCE PROGRAM (AGES 8-18, SEASONAL)
- A weekly band rehearsal, plus a weekly private lesson, where students learn rock songs by playing with their peers. Each program theme will have a setlist of songs, with each student assigned a few songs in that setlist to rehearse and practice during the band rehearsal. Students will also use the weekly private lessons to practice their songs more closely and further develop skills and concepts found in the music. At the end of the season the program will put on a show at a live venue.
- Band rehearsal is 2 hours, private lesson is 45 minutes by default
THEME: Classic Metal (Ages 8-18, Seasonal)
- Classic Metal is widely regarded as ranging from the late 1960s Proto-Metal sound of Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin up until the mid 1980s, when Thrash Metal reigned supreme with bands like the ‘big four’ (Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer) and Hair Metal was still a blip on the horizon. Full of guitar wizardry and riffs galore, Classic Metal’s explosion in the 1970s and early '80s would set the tone for generations of Metal bands to come and leave an indelible impression on the music industry. This show will trace the roots of metal, from the pioneer bands like Black Sabbath and Rainbow to metal’s big break in the '80s with bands like Metallica and Megadeth. If you’re looking to sharpen your shredding skills on guitar and bass, speed up your chops on the drums, or hone your high range vocals - the Classic Metal show is for you!
ADULT PROGRAM (AGES 18+)
- Just like our performance program, adults will learn music concepts and technique through a weekly group rehearsal and a private lesson. Whether the student is a complete beginner or looking to elevate their musical proficiency, adults learn music in band through performance-based music education, and take the stage to play a live show.
- Band rehearsal is 90 minutes, private lesson is 45 minutes by default.
THEME: British Invasion (Ages 18+, Seasonal)
- The mid-1960s cultural phenomenon known as “The British Invasion” refers to the sudden and ubiquitous popularity of British rock and roll among the American youth of the time. The catalog of music created by these artists - including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and The Kinks among others - propelled Rock & Roll music to the mainstream of cultural relevance where it remains to this day. The British Invasion bands took inspiration from Blues, Folk, and early Rock & Roll and combined these influences in an exciting way that can teach both our students and audiences the foundation of modern pop and rock music. British Invasion is a prime show choice for all instruments and experience levels to learn the foundations of Rock music, and especially perfect for emerging players who are looking to take the next step in widening their musical repertoire. Some notable song selections may include The Beatles’ “Twist And Shout”, The Kinks’ “You Really Got Me”, and The Yardbirds’ “For Your Love”.
