  • School of Rock is perfect for beginning musicians and intermediate and advanced musicians, too. School of Rock works to develop each student's skills to be stage-ready for performance.

What does School of Rock teach?

  • School of Rock teaches guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboard + piano, and singing. What sets School of Rock apart from traditional music lessons is our Method™ which combines one-on-one instruction with group rehearsals and live performances, teaching students how to play together as a band.

  • Yes, as part of the School of Rock Method, our SongFirst™ approach uses classic songs to teach technique and music theory. This method helps students remain excited about their music education and eager to practice.

At School of Rock Pikesville, our Little Wing music program is offered for children as young as 4 years old.

Do you offer lessons for adults at School of Rock Pikesville?

Yes we do! We have a very successful adult band program but also provide lessons-only options for adults from beginners to advanced players for guitar, bass, drums, keys, and voice. We also offer a senior citizen discount!

Is there a required commitment or contract for lessons at School of Rock Pikesville?

We have a 30 day cancellation policy, so there is no long-term commitment. HOWEVER, we encourage our students who come for our performance programs to complete a full season for continuity in casting and rehearsing for the final performance. A season is 4 months long. 

How do your summer or school-break camps work at School of Rock Pikesville?

We are a year-round program, so we don't take summers off! But we also have lined up a plethora of summer camps which you can find more information about by clicking this link.

What should students expect in their first lesson at School of Rock Pikesville?

First and foremost, we want to get to know you as a person and a musician. We will talk about your interests in music, find some way to get you playing even a little bit on your instrument even as a beginner, and set you up for success to practice at home using our Method App tool. You should be leaving the school with a smile on your face and a song in your brain!
