TURN YOUR CHILD'S SUMMER UP TO 11

YOUR CHILD CAN ROCK ON STAGE THIS SUMMER!

The Performance Program is School of Rock's hallmark music program, where tens of thousands of students enroll each year. Utilizing the patented School of Rock Method, Performance Program consists of a weekly group rehearsal where kids and teens learn by playing rock music's most iconic songs with a band composed of their peers. Students are assigned songs and parts that are tailored to them based on their age, experience, and ability to learn new skills and concepts. Students then work through their parts in weekly private music lessons, and refine the skills and concepts that those songs introduce. The goal of this curriculum is to prepare kids and teens for live performances. Every few months, Performance Program students take the stage and play at local music venues in front of a live audience.

BEACH PARTY

AGES 6-10 | WEDNESDAYS OR THURSDAYS, 4:00-5:00

Throw on your shades and put down the convertible, we’re going to Rock 101’s Beach Party , where they'll be bringing you the hottest hits of the summer! This show, for students of all levels ages 7-10, will cover the entire spectrum of Rock and Roll, with something for listeners of all eras to enjoy. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

RED WHITE & ROCK

AGES 10-13 | THURSDAYS, 6:30-8:00 OR SATURDAYS, 10:30-12:00

Get ready to rep your stars and stripes! This summer's 102 will showcase songs that revolve around the country we call home.  This show is packed with tons of great riffs, perfect solos to get you started on your lead playing, huge drums, and anthemic sing-along vocal sections.  Some classic jams you can expect are Surfin USA, Kids of America, and Rockin’ in the Free World.

MODERN METAL

AGES 13-18 | MONDAYS, 5:30-7:00 OR 7:30-9:00

Metal has come a long way since its inception in the 1970’s.  This show is dedicated to the bands that have continued to push the boundaries (and push down the tunings) of metal in the past 20 years.  If you’ve listened to and learned all of the classics, and if you need a fresh and exciting push to step up your playing, this is the show for you.  It’s shreddier, it’s faster, it’s more melodic and it’s heavier.  Expect to hear bands like Avenged Sevenfold, System of a Down, Slipknot, and Bullet for my Valentine.

POP PUNK

AGES 13-18 | TUESDAYS, 5:30-7:00 OR 7:30-9:00

Combining the fast, aggressive nature of punk with the melodies and chord progressions of pop music, Pop Punk is a genre that has gone through many iterations throughout its 30 year history.  Though rap artists like MGK and Trippie Redd have begun to revive the genre over the course of the past year, this show will honor the pop punk veterans that saw its mainstream rise.  This show will force you to play loudly, confidently, and packed full of attitude. Expect to hear artists such as Simple Plan, Blink 182, and Good Charlotte.

ROCK N GROHL

AGES 13-18 | WEDNESDAYS, 5:30-7:00 OR 7:30-9:00

Isn’t it weird the front man for the Foo Fighters, the drummer for Queens of the Stone Age, and Them Crooked Vultures all look like the drummer from Nirvana? Crazy, right? This show will span Dave Grohl’s impressive 37-year musical career where he played for the bands named above, as well as Tenacious D, Ghost, Cage the Elephant and more!

WHAT DO YOU MEME?

AGES 13-18 | FRIDAYS, 4:00-5:30 OR 6:00-7:30

The internet's influence on popular music has been undeniable.  While it can certainly help in shooting new songs to stardom overnight (*cough Driver’s License cough*), the internet mostly uses its powers for evil and makes old songs popular again for no good reason.  Come, let us celebrate meme culture in all of it’s glory with this surprisingly good and educational selection of musical numbers.  Prepare to be exposed to multiple genres and various styles of playing.  Expect to hear gems like Africa, Chop Suey, and All Star.

COACHELLA

AGES 13-18 | saturdays, 1:00-2:30 or 3:00-4:30

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (commonly called Coachella or the Coachella Festival) is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, in the Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. It was co-founded by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen in 1999.  Coachella showcases popular and established musical artists as well as emerging artists and reunited groups. It is one of the largest and most famous music festivals in the United States and the world. Coachella's success led to Goldenvoice establishing additional music festivals at the site, including the annual Stagecoach country music festival beginning in 2007, the Big 4 thrash metal festival in 2011, and the classic rock-oriented Desert Trip in 2016.
