The Mamaroneck House Band earns 1st place at the Youth Arts Forum Battle of the Bands at the iconic Bitter End in NYC.

Owners of School of Rock Mamaroneck, Tory and Vanessa Ridder, were honored to participate in the LMC-Media produced music documentary by Rowell. The documentary highlights the history of rock and roll in the Larchmont/Mamaroneck area as well as the development through the years from kids, adults, local bands and music venues.

While folks back home were eating burgers and watching fireworks, 12 local teens were cementing some international connections with the universal mortar of rock and roll. The Mamaroneck School of Rock’s 10-day, 6-gig visit to Chile climaxed at the Hard Rock Cafe in Santiago on July 4th: a concert and celebration with US Ambassador Richard Yoneoka in attendance and the words of “The Star Spangled Banner” booming through the amplifiers.

The stage lights were familiar, as was the rattle and hum of the amplifiers when the young musicians stepped up to face the crowd at Locals 10538 in Larchmont Sunday evening (June 22). The tension in the air didn’t come from the venue or the audience packed with friends and family; it came with the knowledge that this was a final run-through before an actual overseas tour to Chile.
