In this special 5 day camp, students will analyze some of the greatest compositions of the last 60 years and learn how to write their own songs.
Songwriter Camp
In this special 5-day Songwriting Camp, students will learn how to write their own songs! They will analyze some of the greatest compositions from the last 60 years to help develop their own unique tunes. Participants will learn about chord progressions, arrangements, and various techniques used in songwriting. The camp runs from Monday to Friday, where students will spend time learning and writing, culminating in a live performance. This music camp is designed for students aged 12 to 18 who have had previous music instruction.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE
- Camp runs Monday - Thursday, 9am - 3pm & Friday, 9a - 12p
- Each day consists of rehearsals, practice time and fun music-based games and activities
- On Friday, campers will play and perform the songs they’ve been working on throughout the week!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Students can expect an exciting and educational week of learning music taught by our talented camp instructors. Each day, students will be asked to bring lunch, snacks, water, and hearing protection.
At School of Rock, we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all campers. To help us maintain this space, we ask parents to avoid packing any nut products in lunches or snacks. We also prohibit any toy or real weapons from being brought to camp.
